Xbox Nano Controller brings a smaller rechargeable pad to market for $49.99
Microsoft’s smallest Xbox controller keeps the standard 18-input layout while cutting size and weight for smaller hands and portable play.

Microsoft has introduced the Xbox Nano Controller, a smaller wireless gamepad aimed at younger players, people with smaller hands, and anyone who wants a more portable controller. Xbox says the device is a little over five inches long, weighs 3.5 ounces, and retains all 18 standard gameplay inputs despite its reduced footprint. [1] [2]
The controller includes an internal rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button that can be assigned to shortcuts such as screenshots or gameplay capture. Xbox Wireless connects it to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, while Bluetooth support extends compatibility to Windows 10 and 11 PCs, Android and iOS devices, tablets, and compatible smart televisions. Microsoft notes that a USB-C charging cable is required but sold separately. [1] [2] [3]
Pre-orders opened at a U.S. price of $49.99. Microsoft’s U.S. store lists November 4, 2026, as the release date, while the announcement describes a broader November rollout across the United States and numerous international markets. Microsoft says pricing and availability can vary by country and retailer. Separate U.S. holiday promotions will pair the controller with two months of Game Pass Ultimate for eligible new members buying selected Samsung televisions or a Meta Quest device. [1] [2]
The Nano is positioned as an entry-level controller rather than a replacement for the standard Xbox Wireless Controller. Its announced features cover the core inputs and cross-device connections, but Microsoft has not provided battery-life figures in the launch materials cited here. PHOX has not handled or tested the controller, so comfort, durability, and real-world battery performance remain unverified. [1] [2] [3]
